The Team

  • Mitchell Thompson

    PARTNER

Mitchell got into financial recruitment after leaving university nearly fifteen years ago, and it was apparent to him even in the very early days that he had found his niche and that recruitment was going to be his chosen career path. With no previous experience Mitchell was thrown in at the deep end somewhat and was asked to open up a new Birmingham branch for an established North West recruitment business. Armed with just a phone and a yellow pages, within three years he had created the company’s most successful branch and he had established himself as the most successful consultant in the entire business.

“It was from building something from scratch and with no supporting database or recognised brand that I learnt the recruitment lessons I still use today. Clients and candidates like to be treated as individuals, they want to experience a premier service and get the best advice possible. Now with the benefit of many years of experience and advanced networks all over the Midlands region, I am one of the best equipped people available to help guide your career in finance”

Although a serious recruitment professional who is very passionate about his job he has many other passions and believes in a work life balance. If he is not travelling around the globe then you will probably catch him playing football, as he is still very committed to becoming the next Paul Gascoigne! When it comes to winding down he loves spending time with his family, however enjoying a crafty cider in the local watering hole is also something he likes to find time for.

  • Jordan Cowley

    SENIOR CONSULTANT - PERMANENT APPOINTMENTS

Jordan is a Senior Consultant at Mitchell Adam specialising in the senior & post-qualified market. Previous to his time at Mitchell Adam, he originally finished his education with a scholarship with Tamworth FC before getting into recruitment as a resourcer for a small engineering consultancy. One redundancy later he was working as consultant for a small construction consultancy before fortunately getting a lucky break and becoming part of Mitchell Adam.

“I started my financial recruitment career with Mitchell Adam back in September 2013 when I joined the business as an apprentice trainee consultant. I have now progressed to specialise in the recruitment of post-qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) professionals in the Midlands for Mitchell Adam’s Senior Appointments division.

My work focuses on trying to provide both candidates and clients with a completely consultative service… After all, we are a consultancy.
The idea is that we are not here to sell you a job or a candidate, our goal is to provide you with the right solution for your situation through excellent consulting: advising on the markets, talking through progression opportunities and how to reach them whilst also providing you with realistic expectations.

It is the core values of myself and the team here at Mitchell Adam that really make us who we are; actually following through with what we say we are going to do.
We ensure that throughout all our work we will remain completely open, honest and transparent; by sticking to this, we can always guarantee a refreshing and effective service.”

  • Ron Adjei

    SENIOR CONSULTANT - PERMANENT APPOINTMENTS

AAT qualified and formerly working in finance for almost 4 years, Ron felt it was time to begin a new career path and joined the team at Mitchell Adam. He wanted to put his communication skills to better use whilst still being able to utilise the transferable skills gained from his time in accounts.

“I started at Mitchell Adam in July 2015 where I joined as a Consultant on the clerical desk having previously worked in accounts around that level. After about six months developing well within the clerical desk I naturally progressed towards Part Qualified recruitment due to my strong technical knowledge; this involved working with candidates and helping them bridge the gap from being AAT qualified Accounts Assistants to newly qualified accountants. Prior experience within accounts gave me a really good platform to build on and during my time here at Mitchell Adam my knowledge has broadened further with the need to understand a variety of different roles from both a client and candidates perspective. Through hard work, good attention to detail and the odd long night or two, I have now been given the opportunity to move into a Senior Consultant position here at Mitchell Adam. I am looking forward to getting more involved in helping to develop the business  and bringing some new ideas to the table.”

Outside of work Ron is a keen footballer and likes to try and keep fit by going to the gym. With 6 days out of the week being pretty fast paced with work and football, when it comes to a Sunday, Ron likes nothing more then unwinding with a day full of sitting and lying down.

Clients are just as busy as me and candidates should know that I am there for them! With each interview that I had at Mitchell Adam, I began to genuinely foresee that this was an opportunity to be mentored, supported and one of growth. I had found a company that mirrored both my vision of recruitment as well as my drive to progress within an organisation. I am very lucky to find an employer who values their staff and takes time to sit and develop us. I’m really looking forward to growing my career here at Mitchell Adam and I can’t wait to see what the future brings for me here!”
